The Black Tux is the premiere destination for online formalwear rentals. Shortly after its founding, in 2016, they asked Felipe through Ways & Means to develop a ‘how-it-works’ film with accompanying paid media cutdowns to anchor their homepage and explain their process to prospective customers.

In the following 4 years, Felipe led three brand campaigns, a seasonal ‘prom’ campaign, an animated social series answering FAQs, and a motion graphics-driven ‘branded response’ campaign.


The brand campaigns in particular became an opportunity to help define the young company through collaborations with directors like Andy Bruntel, Ben Berman, and Jimmy Marble.
A 2017 request for video answers to frequently asked questions proved a fitting opportunity to expand upon illustration styles the brand had experimented with in printed materials and create an animated sartorial series.
